I don’t know how but they found me – Social climb (Song) | Interview

Interview mit IDKHBTFM zum Song „Social climb“ | Komplizierter Bandname, ziemlich straighte Musik. Mit „Social climb“ ist den zwei Jungs von I don’t know how but they found me ein leichtfüßiger Pop-Song gelungen. Im Interview erklären sie, wie es zu dem Stück kam.

How did you write „Social climb“ in the very beginning?

It began with the bass line and the gang vocal bit and grew from there.

What can you tell us about recording the song?

I was lucky to have a great producer on that song (Jason Hill of Louis XIV) he really nailed the tone and the vibe of what that song was supposed to be.

What’s your personal favorite moment of the track?

The bridge is my favorite. When the choir bit happens.

What is the song about?

Toxic LA/Entertainment business culture and the people who thrive in it.

What’s your favorite one-liner of the song?

No one’s got control of what I do.

Why did you choose to put „Social climb“ at third position on the EP?

It just seemed like the right spot for it. A good mid point track.

At what point of a concert do you play the song?

Usually somewhere near the top. After a bit of call and response with the crowd.

What songs would you put around „Social climb“ on a mixtape?

Go on by The Elected
Settle Down by Kimbra
Watching the Detectives by Elvis Costello

At what moment should I play the song?

Whenever you’re in the middle of a crowded room and feel completely alone. That’s who this song is for.

Ist das gerade bei euch der Fall? Auch wenn nicht, hört hier in die gesamte EP von I don’t know how but they found me rein. Sehr unterhaltsam!
